 Questions To Ask On a College Tour

No lie. I was so nervous about my first college tour.

In all honesty, it was not as bad as I thought it was. It was just hot and following around a student in a uniform. College tours are far from scary. Most of the information they give can be asked at any time after, so if you forget to as a question, don’t worry.

Here are some quick tips you should know:

  1. No one cares how you look.
  2. There is A LOT of walking. (Buy a pair of GOOD walking shoes.)
  3. The lines are always long in the student union/food courts.

Be prepared and make a friend or two.

Campus in General

1. What is it like being a student at this university?

2. What is your favorite spot on campus?

3. What is your least favorite spot on campus?

4. What is the most difficult thing about being a student here?

5.  What makes this school special compared to others?

6. How does diversity look on campus?

7. Is this a walking campus?

8. How many students attend this school?

9. Why did you choose this school?

10. On a scale from 1 to 10, how would you rate this university altogether?

11. In your opinion, what can this university improve on?

 

Academics:

12. Where is the best place to study on campus?

13. How easy is it to switch majors?

14. What is the average size of freshman classes?

15. What majors are the most popular?

16. Where or how can I get tutoring, if I ever need it?

17. How much reading is expected?

18. What is the main thing that to know before scheduling my classes as a freshman?

19. What general Ed classes to take or avoid?

20. What is your favorite class?
